"Rise?"
"No, Reese."

Not a major obstacle.

OP, I like the name.

It's our son's middle name. We had a few people ask us how to pronounce after we sent the birth announcement. Personally, I would have spelled it Reece, but DH preferred Rhys. I didn't really care since it is just the middle name.

I like a variety of names, mostly classic. I tend not to like surname names. I wouldn’t use top 10 names, though Benjamin and Charlotte are names I love, unless I had a beloved deceased relative with the name. So I’m firmly in the Theodore, Max, Hugo, Isaac camp when it comes to boys’ names.

Yawn. Not everyone has to use an overused classic name.

It’s on our shortlist (due in a few weeks) but hate that spelling. I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t get it in America. I prefer Reese, except that seems more female.

No one will spell it right. No one will pronounce it right. For good or ill, you will mark the child for life as having the kind of parents who their baby the name "Rhys".

I like it, but I think in the US, you should spell it either Reece or Reese to avoid the problem of so many who will not know how to pronounce it.
