DC is different, everybody works in DC so that is major pro. Gaithersburg does not support jobs to buy 1.5 mil homes and commute is a bitch.

1. People in Gaithersburg can and do work in DC; DC is not the only place where people make $$$$
2. The bitchiness of the commute really depends on where in Gaithersburg you live and which mode of transportation you are taking. You can get from Gaithersburg to DC in 30 to 45 min on the MARC train

The schools are rated 3, 5, 5. Very odd.

What is the demographics for this type of house. It is gigantic, it has tons of rooms and living spaces. The schools are "ahm… ". I am thinking it is way to big for a professional single or a couple considering they would not care for schools. It is not good for multi generational family because it does not have living quarters on the first floor for elderly, and it seems to be perfect bachelors pad overall. Far from the city. Help me here? Who is the target audience for it?

They have elevators.
That whole area is elevated now. Many 1 M + SFHs and 700-900k townhomes.
Looks like the elevator is an option...for even more $$!
