I think though, most were reacting to her rudeness and not her actual problem. She was correct in complaining but she needed to complain to the airhostess and refuse to sit down in her seat. Instead she started being bitchy to these two people.
The airline should have realized that these two obese people were gaming the system by asking for a window and an aisle seat. They man should have moved to the middle seat and the woman should have got the aisle seat.
When the passengers in another plane were offended by body odor of a travelling family, they complained and got those people off. In this case, only the woman was inconvenienced and so the rest of the passengers did not want to side with her.
