I am so happy that it isn't just me. We replaced our Bosch with another one and I sent it back twice because of the terrible smell. I'm very sensitive to smells, but even my husband noticed.

I say go with Miele.

Nobody complains about Miele ever in any of their products. Always satisfied!

I have had both Bosch and Miele. I had to replace the control board twice in five years. The Miele is quieter and I haven’t had any problems with it in 7 years. I use the Miele tabs and rinse aid because they seem to work better than the other atore brands.

Have you tried different detergents? Ours did not work well with some brands/kind and finally found one that works well.

Used their recommended brand, used vinegar, used cascade pods. The truth is that there is a manufacturing flaw with Bosche. I wish we had not gone with the CR recommendation. This was the only time CR failed us. I am stuck with it for next 10 years and eventually we will get rid of it, but till then we are going to run it to ground.

This is so true. Our Bosch is still going strong after 9 years, but I disliked the rack from day 1. When it croaks, I am going to get a Miele, or something else.

I don't have a horse in this race - no experience with either brand. But $550 is probably 2-3 service calls (closer to 2). And you'd definitely have more than that in 10 years. So to answer your question, yes, I think $550 for a 10 year warranty is worth it.

I hate my Bosch. So anything else.

Whichever has the rack configuration you like best. I passed on the Bosch because the rack tines configuration weren’t useful to me.

Both the Miele and Bosch’s are 2.5 “ less deep in the interior compared to the KitchenAid. It’s weird that they chose to waste that space.

Bosch’s Have also been lighting people houses on fire. No thanks.

We recently bought a KitchenAid because of the Bosch reviews, the cost of a Miele and the fact that only Miele can repair it for you and thatccan take a long time and be expensive & I didn’t like the interior layout of Bosch or Miele (felt cheap). And I like the heated drying w KitchenAid. The KitchenAid gets some bad reviews online but we find it to be fabulous at cleaning and drying and the inside is sturdy & well planned out. Just get the warranty

New dishwashers don’t all do that anymore. GE & Kitchensid have heated drying still, but Bosch and Miele rely on air & fan drying and your adding a rinse agent to help with drying.

I really like how my Bosch dishwashers cleaned, but they both lasted less than 3 years before the control boards failed. I'd definitely pay extra for a Miele with a 10 year warranty. We chose an Asko this time around and love it.

We have 2 recent boschs & I hate them with a passion. They both smell horrifically. I have had them serviced & no one can figure it out. The last tech said he’s had that issue a few other times w/ bosch. The Bosch service line told me I was cleaning the food off too well bf washing. Have tried not doing that, using their recommended detergent, etc. nothing helps. Google Bosch dw smells. There are whole forums about the problem. Also, it’s nothing in my pipes or anything bc we didn’t have this problem w/ either previous dw. I’m ready to throw them out bc the amt of time & money on them is absurd.
