Get a pair of repetto ballet flats. They are comfortable and can polished routinely (at least the black and brown can be) to keep them looking great be resoled as needed.
No: I have and they’ve been fine - they’re plastic, not fabric.

If I’m standing for a while, I find a low heel (1”) much more comfortable than a true flat. Your mileage may vary.
I’m another Cole Hahn fan for comfortable, yet stylish shoes.
If you wear trousers, you can always go for a boot or bootie, which is easier to find with that low heel and some support. Some even have enough room for supportive insoles.

I love my rothy’s because they are washable but I did replace the washable insert they come with with some Dr Scholls ones.

I ordered and returned Rothys as they just didn't look polished enough to me. Also, I have slightly wider feet and they didn't fit me well.

PP on the Cole Haans... yes, they have support compared to a true flat. The slight wedge makes all the difference and it’s made of a bendable material compared to a wood wedge. I recently bought Tieks and returned them; the support was not there to justify the price.

I have two pairs of these Cole Haan flats and love them. I can wear them all day because they have a very slight wedge which gives support. You can dress them up or down. Amazon might have them cheaper. Try them in your typical size and half size up, sometimes they run a tad small.
