Eh, I'm only turned off by men who will ONLY date much younger women, or men older than about 30 who go for women in their early 20s--so, girls, really, rather than women. I'm 40, and have no issue with dating men 20+ years older than me (and am currently lusting after a 61-year-old, lol, so there's that). But, it's not like I will only date much older men--I would consider just about anyone who seemed compatible from about 35-65. That being said, all things being equal, I would way sooner date a 55 or 65 year old than a 35 year old. Yes, some older men are creeps, but those are pretty easy to weed out and I find it's difficult to find an actual grown ass man in single 30 or 40 somethings.

Here we have the "older men" dating "younger woman" issue. Again.

I think we can end it by saying:

1) If you are a 45 year-old man (or insert any age here) and have (or are) dating 30 year-old woman, please do not post to tell us so. I am sure you are great and can get tons of women at any and every age.
2) If you are 30 year-old woman (insert any age here) and would not date (and have female friends who would not date) a 45 year-old man, please do not post to tell us so. I am sure you are great and can tons of men at any every age, even if you only want them to be of a certain age.

I am disappointed when I read post/counter-post regarding the issue since most do not move the thread along at all.

Nah. Men in OLD don't have very picky filters. All men are spamming every woman who isn't a total beast. The whole point of OLD is that it doesn't take much time or effort to approach, so men will message as many women as possible.

Of course, women define guys they are not attracted to (which is most guys) as weird / creepy / predatory, and therefore they put a lot of perfectly nice, normal guys in the weird / creepy / predatory box.

The observation above, is why women on average I think have so many weird interactions on online dating.

The men aren't on average weird, but any given normal guy is going to filter you out for being too tall, too short, too religious, not religious enough, too smart, too dumb, etc. So you'll only interact with the smaller percentage of normal guys for whom you're a good fit.

The weird/predatory/too old guys are casting a wide net and messaging everyone so more women interact with them relative to their numbers.

Most 30 year old women aren't willing to date a 50 year old guy, but they don't need to date everyone, just one. So some guys cast a very wide net and they see who they match up with. As far as they're concerned some 32 year old who thinks they're gross is no different than any other woman they're not dating.

I'm 53, and plenty of 30 year old women do. Even the ones who say they won't date anyone over 40.

I’m 33, and would not, at this point in my life, date a man over 45. As far as I know, none of my girlfriends would, either.

Yeah ... I've always been OK with an age range and dated older men, but at 30 I never would have considered someone over 45 as viable. Even 40 would have been pushing it.

The fastest growing demographic of new Botox users is?? Men! Guess we will continue to date younger than our age for years

No, they are not. They are both preferences. They are both things that the other gender finds attractive. Yet women whine incessantly that men are "getting attracted wrong" and are eager to tell men what they should be attracted to. Talk to the hand already.

(And no, being attracted to youth does not in any way mean men are entitled to it or are going to get it.)
