My 2nd grade son wears leggings all the time! Jeez DC Urban Moms!!! Allow your child to express themselves as they want to. Period. Commentary like this is why our society is so backwards.

They do, at target. My son also wears long underwear (the smooth kind) under shorts

I work at an elementary school - lots of little boys are wearing sports leggings under shorts this year. I think it's a smart way around the "I want to wear shorts year round" mindset many kids have.

My 11 yo DS wears slim fitting athletic joggers every day. They look like leggings to DH and me but are definitely cut for boys. It’s what a lot of boys are wearing these days.

Hard to say which your son is asking for though, so just decide if you want him to browse in some stores with you, flip through some catalogs, or look at photos online of various styles so he can tell you what he likes, then you pick from options you find in his size that also match your preferences (retailer, price, fabric, etc.)



My DD has the target cozy fleece ones and they are a lot like my DS's fleece joggers. Good for cold weather.

Good idea to show him some options and see which he likes best.
