He said that in ONE DAY along an unsecured area of the border, they apprehended 450 people entering illegally. 135 of those people were from countries other than Mexico - including some in the Middle East.

A tall wall like the one Jim Acosta featured combined with the technology that the Trump administration is seeking as part of its border barrier package would go a long way on preventing criminals, rapists, gang members, drug dealers, and others from illegally entering our country. He does not give a rat's ass about solving immigration problem or border security. Democrats have proposed many immigration overhaul solutions in the past and GOP has refused. Democrats care about border security and solving immigration issue comprehensively. I am pretty sure the moderate republicans want that too - but then it will defang the right-wing side of the GOP and neuter Fox News crazies...they cannot use low income immigrants as boggyman to rile low income rural whites to vote for GOP once these issues are solved. They also cannot use low income immigrants as the excuse for the poor whites plight while enriching the top 1%. That is why we have not progressed on this issue ever.

No. There are legal ways to apply for asylum. Walking over the border and living in a country undocumented is NOT the way to do it.

Show me your official government reference that it is illegal to apply for asylum once you have crossed the border. You cannot, because it is not.
