I’m about the same size and get rude comments regularly. If I’m in a professional environment, I politely walk away. If it’s an acquaintance or a stranger, I take it as an opening to comment on their appearance right back. Little bit of acne? Losing hair? Overweight? I’ll call it out. No one is perfect. Try it, it’s pretty satisfying.

I'm 30, a guy, and short, and have had my share of these comments. You're 34 and should have already figured out ways to get out of those kinds of "embarrassments" (it's really just you though) or ways to just laugh it off.

Larlo is almost as big as you." He then looked me up and down and continued to talk about it saying how we look the same weight too. Should I say something? It really embarrassed me. I am 34 and he spoke to me like I was a kid.
Just tell him his kid is tall and heavy for an 8 year old.

I"m 5.0 petite as well. For some reason, my 9 year old son is really close to my height. I joke about it all the time and say "he is almost my size which is really not that hard to do, but still" I think you need thicker skin.

Being small isn't negative if you are a woman.
I knew some silly person would say that.
1. It's not a negative to you. It is to other people.
2. Contextually he friend did not mean it as a compliment or praise
3. It's a bad model for his son. I'm sure you wouldn't want your daughter's classmate commenting on her weight
4. It's not hard to avoid making comments about weight height, etc. Just don't do it.

YOU are the right size. So is his son, in fact.
There’s no reason to act like it’s a weird thing. It can be amusing but it stops being funny when he makes it seem like you should be taller etc.
If you think it would be alright I would communicate this to him.
I’m 5’ and also 34. It can suck when people aren’t respectful. There ARE women shorter than me in fact. It’s no big deal and people need to get over it.
