My commute from upper moco to downtown via CT Ave has been awesome. Literally shaved 30+ minutes off my commute.

Yep, I'm also thinking that the working class African-American folks who are contract workers (janitors, security guards, and so forth) are probably more likely to live in Maryland. But that's only a guess.

????

WTH are you talking about?

I've not seen any changes in traffic in VA. 495 was a complete shit show on Tuesday

Traffic on 495 in MD is still heavy this week. No idea what 495 OP is referring to.

LOL. OP is an idiot.

For one, my commute from MD to VA is the same it’s always been. Second, a lot of the fed employment in VA is defense and intel, which is funded.

I agree that is DoD was shut down there would be far more impact in VA. Its also true that if HHS and NIH were shut down there would be even more impact in MoCo.

It is correct that MoCo is less diversified in professional level employment though. I can't find it now but there is data out there that shows a higher percentage of people making over 80K work for the federal or local govt in MoCo than surrounding areas.

Traffic was a breeze for me too in NoVa. I work in both MD and NoVA sites. OP, are you trying to start another VA vs MD thread?

I was going to say this. NOVA has a lot of federal workers, but more of them are defense (pentagon), CIA (Langley), etc.
