I call BS on the DH. If he is getting up and getting food, his back doesn't hurt that bad. My DH really slipped a disc and he was incapacitated. I had to help him to the bathroom.

Your DH just needs ibuprofen and a glass of wine and to man up.

FFS - cut OP some slack! It s Christmas, she is sick, her husband threw his back out, where is your empathy?

OP, hopefully one day you'll look back and say, "remember Christmas 2018 when we were both a mess and the kids ruled the roost?"

Do what you can, and don't worry about the rest. The kids will be fine, you'll be fine with some rest and meds!

how old are the kids? If they're older than 4 or 5, just put on a movie and go lay down in bed. Or put the kids in your bed w/ your husband w/ a movie and go nap on the couch. Clean up can wait until tomorrow.

Also, you can take some medicine that might help alleviate your symptoms and maybe you wouldn't feel quite so crummy.
