Approx 300 each, but thry didnt want much and I bought them a lot of what they needed anyways ( shoes, socks, wallets...ect). We take a big 10 day vacation each Christmas, so that is really the gift to the family. Were in Utah and I'm laying in bed watching it snow out the window and skiers go by and they are on the slopes.

This year we did a ‘want, need, wear, read’ so 4 presents each and spent about $150 on each kid.

I’m guessing this is the poster who SAH & has a retired husband. She is probably also be the poster who buys her kid a “treat of his choice” to make him feel better about his team (on which he is a star) losing a game.

10-12 other people buy her things too.

What’s appropriate then? Nothing is cheap anymore.

About $500 for our 8 year old DD. She’s our only child and we don’t really buy gifts for each other. We would much rather spend the money on her.

Probably somewhere around $350, including stocking stuffers and all gifts for my 6yo. One big present (~100) then a bunch of books and clothes and smaller toys/games. Looking at the tree right now, it feels crazy (with all the other presents she's getting from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.). Should probably do less.
