I’m 45 and my divorce was final last year (after 19 years of marriage). The key is taking the advice of the PP upthread- take time for you, heal from the pain and become healthy (psychologically). When you’re in a truly good place you’ll attract all sorts of decent men.

I feel as though I’ve had some good luck dating. For awhile I’d only attract guys either 35-39 or 49+. It took a long time to actually meet up with a guy in his 40’s. I’m now dating a great guy but taking it day by day. It’s weird being back in the game.

I was forced into divorce at 40 when my partner unilaterally decided to divorce me.
Three years later I met a nice 23 year old two years after that we got married.
Therefore my experience was that divorce in my 40's was ok. My only regret is that I didn't date more before getting remarried.

No 40something man will want you unless you agree early on to have sex with him

This is DCUM so you will hear from some (read: those who are batshit crazy and you pray that they do not live near you after reading their posts) that: 1) older men only want women who are younger than 40; 2) women who are older than 40 will not date older men because they do not want to be someone's date to "Orientation for New Resident's Day" at Sunrise Senior Living; and 3) while it might be okay for others, they are so smoking hot they either only date much younger women or only date the top 1% of the top 1% of single men over 40.

OP - you seem sane and should be able to meet a number of nice men.
