My sister gave succulents this year as teacher and school gifts. My poor nephew was bringing a boxed plant to school every day for almost two weeks, to give to one teacher at a time!!!

It probably because parents don’t know them. It is possible the students do though. Maybe parents can encourage students to think of them. I’m sure they’d appreciate it. They are typically called building service workers, not janitors.
I’m a teacher. I bought chocolates for the building service worker who cleans my room. I also gave a huge cheesecake to the entire bldg services staff of three schools (DD’s, mine, and DH’s).
I don’t know any of the cafeteria workers, but we gave chocolates to the front office staff at DH and my schools. The attendance secretary and nurse’s office at DD’s school also got chocolates. All 8 teachers got chocolates and personalized notes.

I give a gift card to the bus driver because they are responsible for safe transportation and discipline in the bus. They are often ignored when we think of giving gifts, but actually they are a great support for your child twice a day.

^^ Since we do not celebrate Christmas, this and the gifts we gave our children will be the only cost we will incur. Our total cost for Christmas will not exceed $600. I am not including other shopping we do during this season because of the incredible Christmas and post-Christmas discounts.

my child has 8 middle school teachers. we got them each a gift of a consumable from trader joes that was under $10. they have lots of chocolates, cookies, etc. that are between about $5 and $10.

Gave cards and a mini box of chocolates. 2 kids, they didn't want to exclude any teachers, so 16 of these.

Our PTA coordinates gift cards for all of the teachers. We give individually if our child wants to (kind of like specials teachers in elementary). We also give generously to the PTA. We would give cash to teachers along with a small gift...candy/chocolate
For bus driver, we give cash.
