I don't really care for her show. Too many games. Silly.

I think her fellow entertainers like/love her from all their gushing when a guest on the show. Everyone mentioned her big birthday bash last year.

I agree, not funny at all. But, nor is Jimmy Fallon, I mean the opposite. In fact Fallon is so fake with his guests, if I even watch a clip on youtube I cringe. At least Ellen is not soooooo fake. I am not sure Ellen is a comedian any more?!

That's a good way of describing her. I love understated and wry, so I like her. She's like a funny friend who will give you the best wry commentary on your life as you catch up over coffee.

I also think that's why people say she's not nice in person. They probably expect her to be all chummy in person but really you're a stranger to her and she's trying to get stuff done. I just read an article where people kept coming up to her and expecting her to dance with them. That must get tiresome all the time.

Agree. Back when Rosie had her own talk show and was actually nice, Ellen was trying to copy her. Now, most people can't remember when Rosie was nice/popular and think Ellen is "all that'. She seems super fake and God, how did she ever get Portia?

I used to love her talk show when it first started and over the years it's gotten so........formulaic? Something about her makes me think she's got a dark side when the cameras aren't rolling.

I love her and the whole "she is not nice" stuff is BS.

Ellen's net worth is about $400 Million. Clearly there are more than a few people who like her. My child and I are fans - she makes my child laugh and that is priceless.

And if she is not always extraordinarily polite, I'm fine with that.

In the 90's everybody loved the Queen of Nice talk show host (yup, it's Rosie O'Donnell), and well, you know the rest.

I suspect the same here with Ellen.

I've never found her charming or funny. Likewise don't see the appeal.

I had NO idea this was a "known fact" about her. I actually do find her funny, and thought she was one of those people that everyone loved
