What were your expectations like? I did an IUI with injectables and it failed and I'm not motivated to do 2-3 more. (prefer IVF but my RE wants me to give IUI more tries)

Your RE works for you. If your RE has said the chance of success is higher w/ IVF, and you want to do IVF, then advocate for yourself...or find a new RE.

husband wants to do whatever RE wants to do since they're the expert. so that's the impasse.

We had the same issue - we had done 4 ovulatory cycles before moving to IUI and after the first one didn't work I was so frustrated and just wanted to move to IVF. I was so annoyed that DH wanted to keep going to 3 IUIs. Our RE explained that because of relatively young age (32) and the fact that I was responding to follicle stimulating meds he thought I had a decent chance within 3 IUIs. I got pregnant on my 3rd with a singleton. I'm VERY glad we didn't have to go through IVF and I'm glad I trusted my RE.

To singleton pregnancies via IUI. In total I believe we did six a
IUI’s between both children. I have several friends with twins via IUI though.
