This wouldn’t make me miserable. I’d feel slightly sad for them both as it would reflect neither is truly able to move on. My DH meanwhile would laugh his azz off as he once joked they should date to spare the rest of single adult population.

Just let the anger go man. Move on and enjoy the rest of your life-for yourself and your kids. Even if STBX terrible and awful the revenge thing will hurt you just as much if not more than it will hurt her. You have second chance at a happy life. Take it.

My FIL did this to my MIL. DH hasn’t spoken to him in 4 years and he’s never met two of his three grandchildren. Is that what you want?

You should ask my MIL. She divorced 5 years ago and is still trying to get back at FIL, while FIL has already remarried and couldn't care less. There is no getting back, there is just moving on or staying stuck in the past.

+ 1 even when parents stop loving each other, kids never stop loving their parents. Intentionally hurting a parent/ex is a quick way to cause a rift in your relationship with your child. Wrong. DCUM says moving on is the best revenge for any asshole moves. So does most literature out there around healing and forgiveness. OP is stupid to ruin financial investment opportunity over unbridled emotions. That is literally taking money from his blood to cause pain towards his ex. Super selfish as a parent.
