NCS has an amazing athletic center, and my daughter always wants to jump on the rock wall. Although it usually attracts a handful of talented athletes, it isn't what I would call a strong athletic school. The record for varsity teams last year - soccer 4-7, field hockey 5-8, tennis 9-5, volleyball 10-8, basketball 9-10 (Tom is a great coach though), lacrosse 10-8, softball 12-3. But, it might be a good fit if you're looking for a school that offers a variety of sports and encourages everyone to participate.

NCS has the best academics by far and also does very well in athletics.

I don't think SJC is mediocre, though citing the Honors Program as a defense defeats the point since most kids aren't in the Program. Basketball, soccer and field hockey are strong, but the lax program is on the decline. Holton and Stone Ridge are great options. Oakcrest has nice facilities but doesn't play strong competition and is in a weaker league. I would also add Visi to the list with strong basketball, field hockey, soccer and lax. Many of these schools actively recruit so making varsity will be tough, but they also offer sport clubs so your daughter can still be active, have fun and may even try a new sport. The answer really does depend on what sport she want to play.

What sort of atmosphere do you want for your DD? You've listed some schools with very different cultures and traditions. A girl that would be happy at Oakcrest might not enjoy GDS and vice versa.

This is not true and my kid does not go there. They have a regarded honors program.

SJC has good academics. Unless you have a child that attends or has graduated, you don’t know. And, on what are you basing your opinions besides what you think?

Based on well known reputation and stats. STJ is a mediocre school academically.

SJC has good academics. Unless you have a child that attends or has graduated, you don’t know. And, on what are you basing your opinions besides what you think?

Visit is obnoxious. Look at St. John’s or Stone Ridge.

You left off volleyball although they can’t seem to get past Holy Cross or Paul VI to win the WCAC championship.
