Does your son have a relationship with his bio mother? If not, why? If so, I’m hoping you’ve looped her in to what’s going on. Feeling repeatedly abandoned by any parental figure/role is enough to shake the foundation of a person. He (and your other son) should feel as if they are your number 1 priority, not dating, not a new girlfriend, not anything else. I hope you tell him he and his brother are what’s most important to you. Don’t assume he knows that.

Your son was emotional because he saw another woman caring for his brother (half-brother) and realized his family was really broken for good.

Your wife destroyed your marriage but she is still the kids parents and you should not teach them to hate her. Of course he's depressed. You are still married and dating. Technically you are cheating too. I'd question any woman who is dating a married man, no matter what the situation is.

Your son is 17 and you've already blown through two wives? Maybe take a break from dating, at least while he's still at home.

PP here. Oh, oops!! He hates his stepmother, not his mother. I stand corrected. Disregard my prior post.

Dude, you just said he genuinely hates his mother, and you’re thinking this is just school stress? Are you really implying that it’s perfectly okay that he hates his mother?? And that as long as he’s okay with you dating others, then there’s no problem here? C’mon! Way to be dense.

The hatred he feels for his mother is painful and detrimental to his mental and emotional health.
