Not people in clinics or doc's offices that are getting the adjuvant -- the US is testing the adjuvant for future use.

Those are the people in the govt STUDIES, not us normal people at clinics.

They are the same, but I do think there are likely slight variations between each manufacturer as far as ingredients.

I'd think it more likely to be a sensitization issue. The first time one is exposed to something, you typically don't see a reaction. That's the sensitization.

The second (or third+, it can take awhile) time you'll see a reaction. Like when you give your child PB&J for the first time, you don't just have to watch them the first time, but for quite awhile.

1) any of the hive reactions occur with the mist?
2) were all of the hive reactions shots with thimerisol? (I know people can be allergic to thimerisol and if they've avoided thim in the past, maybe they had to get it now, i.e., a concession of sorts that they wouldn't normally get but did bc most of the thim free ones aren't available, and that gave a reaction?)

I wonder if it's bc the proportion of kids receiving the H1N1 is higher than those who get a flu shot in the past? Therefore, proportionally the amount of hives is the same, but it seems like more bc more people are getting the H1N1. Just a thought, as I have no idea.

One common allergen in vaxes seems to be gelatin. Any chance of that?

I hope she keeps getting better. My son gets hives, too, and it's scary. We're used to it now, but that first time was pretty horrible. (his is from food allergies)

OP here. The hives last one half day -12 hours - then started to come and go with Benadryl over the next day, then returned for one last night, with medicine the whole time. Son appears to be fine, now, a week later, but I am still concerned about the reaction -DEFINITELY does not seem normal that so many people have had this experience. Reported to VAERS, hopefully something will come of it...
