It's not a miracle by any means but I lost all the weight I gained with my second kid during the first round and am getting close to my pre-any baby weight during this round. Granted, I didn't have a ton to lose--about 7 lbs in all but I was trying to track calories and working out a ton at Orange Theory, Pure Barre, Barre3 and running and nothing was working. When my Orange Theory class pack ran out I decided to put the money I would've spent on another package on FWTFL.
I actually love the "homemade" workouts because I just do them from home and I'm saving a ton of time. Agree that they're not super professional but I think they're effective.
I was totally wary of the whole MLM-iness of it all and I still am. I don't do any other MLMs--I find them weird and icky. I don't share anything about the program on social media and am certainly not signing up to be a coach. So I get that. But I like having a coach I can direct questions to and love the accountability of a group. I imagine you could get the same thing from Weight Watchers or something like that but I've never tried. The owner does some light promotion of her cookbook and other things like that but it's easy enough to avoid it. And there's no juice fast, though there are two 24-hour fasts during the 6 week program (so no food but no mandate for certain juices or anything that you have to buy).
I also like that you do get to eat a good amount of food. I'm 5'3" and now about 120 lbs and eat 1600+ calories on my regular macro days (3 days), 1500 on low carb days (2 days), and 1250+ on low macro days (2 days). I really like to eat and I don't feel deprived other than on the two low macro days, which are admittedly hard. I'm now totally used to the intermittent fasting aspect and plan on continuing that part after the program ends.
The above sums up my experience too. I'm about halfway through my first round, and I can see myself signing up for another. My coach is EXCELLENT and not MLM-y at all, which has made a huge difference (she's actually a professional therapist, which is really helpful!). I really like the support and accountability of the Facebook group. I also don't plug the program to anyone and would never get an affiliate link or be a coach or whatever. It really has removed the mental load of nutrition for me - I love a set of rules and I find the program to be pretty realistic and sustainable. The low carb and low macro days are not my favorite, but there's always a regular macro day around the corner to look forward to. I'm seeing results and I feel a lot better now that my gluten/dairy intake is limited. I agree that you could totally DIY the intermittent fasting and carb cycling, but I am willing to pay the fee for the accountability of the group and the relationship with the coach.
