School is always open on Veteran's Day. They should have scheduled school on the holidays in September and see if the responses were accurate given the low response rate to the survey. There were no reports of widespread absences on Veteran's Day, which was observed on 11/12 this year. The school board should leave spring break as a full 5 weekday break and stop with thinking long weekends will fly. They got major backlash with the shortened break this year.
I hate the Hogan restrictions on this calendar. When I was a kid we had a full week of winter break in February and a full week in April. This is ridiculous.
Do your homework. The Governor didn't create this calendar.

It’s not that simple. They’ll also close for the inauguration in January.
Why? Why do we close for that.
And I think the jewish, easter, and muslim holidays are a waste of time as it is a secular school district. But Inauguration Day??? Just no

That would be great!
Maybe for stay at home parents.
They just had a 2 winter break and 2 weeks later you all want a 5-day weekend? I would be fine if they took all the random September days and put them back on the calendar. They kill me at work.
