I think pp means that the "it doesn't sit right" person has low self esteem. People who care about harmless, non-permanent things that other people do can't be happy with themselves.

I'm not crazy about it because it reminds me of skinheads--a lot of them around in my younger days (I'm from a big European capitol they tended to flock to). I'd probably encourage her to do more of a supershort style like this, instead:

Nope. That is only true when she's 18 and out the door. You have every right to veto inappropriate dress or appearance when she's living with you.

A shaved head isn’t inappropriate in any way. I let my kids do what they want with their hair. It’ll grow back and they can change it however they want. Anything permanent needs to be okayed by both parents and clothes need to be weather and occasion appropriate, that’s our only rule.

Personally, I would be concerned b/c I was bald from chemotherapy when she was in Kindergarten -- and that was a hard time. I would worry that it's a sign that she's worried about inheriting BRCA or otherwise expressing an anxiety. But I see bald/shaved heads through a different lens.

My DD did this, luckily looked great and we love her so loved the look (I was a bit shy about bringing her to Mass on Christmas Day but she could have cared less and just rocked the look). She now has mid length hair and is very Audrey Hepburn fashion oriented. It was a phase. Don't assume, I would consider you a bad Momfriend if you did. Those Moms tend to be easy to spot.
