I know a wide array, which is why I think a LAC is the best fit. No interest in STEM even though scores very well in all STEM classes.

My quick thoughts merged with my DC gut reactions + stereotypes so take this however you want:
Georgetown (DC)--good for pol sci/govt/intl rel--DC found it too "uptight"
American (DC)-- Not very rigorous, not great academic support
Richmond (VA) Good school, preppy rich kids, greek culture, nice city
UVA (VA)--well-rounded kids, play hard party hard, college town
Dickinson (PA) - good school, never been to it.
William and Mary (VA) --earnest kids, middle of the road politics, excellent academics, nerdy
Swarthmore (PA): very strong academics, pressure cooker environment
Bryn Mawr (PA) - supportive school (my DC is male so not on the list)
Muhlenberg (PA)--not familiar other than the name
Lafayette (PA) -- frat lac
Allegheny (PA) - nice school, town is depressing
Davidson (NC) ==good school but never been to it.
Union (NY)--good for motivated, self-directed kids
Mount Holyoke (MA) --good school, not more familiar
St. Lawrence (NY) not familiar
