I live in Shaw, send my kids to one of the elementary schools and would indeed consider a Shaw Middle School at the original site, but will not send my kids to Cardozo. The site is huge and can include a Shaw Middle as well as Bannekar, so that is what people are trying for.
I agree, who are these nasty people? Where do you all live? Leave this to the Shaw community and MYOB please.
Because if affects all of DCPS, especially at the middle school level.
How are you affected?
Really? You can't figure this out on your own? Little kids I assume.
This is how people answer when they don't have an answer.

Why won’t you send your kids to Cardozo?
BC it's too far, BC it's not a stand-alone school, BC it doesn't have enough differentiation for advanced kids, BC Ross and Thomson kids don't also go there. A stand-alone middle school within walking distance of our house with kids from Ross, Thomson, Seaton, Cleveland and Garrison is appealing to me. The current option is not.
We're in the same boat, PP, and send our kids to one of the original feeder schools. We'll be at the meeting on Saturday and hope to see other families and community members there.

Anonymous wrote:Save Shaw MS Committee sounds like the Save MacMillan Park committee. There isn't a middle school like there isn't a MacMillan Park.
