Julie Reiley believes that gifted education is a type of special education which should be offered and enhanced. She is a Yale educated lawyer who plans to work with Annapolis closely for school funding.
Karla Silvestre was a driving force behind the new GT admission rules. She discussed it at the recent Clarksburg forum, and confirmed to a parent in a private discission after that she was a supporter and a voter of the new rules which emphasize where students live (i.e. diversity) over their test scores. This was widely publicised on NextDoor forums.

I didn't vote for her.
She has the mental capacity of a child. But still she spent tons of money to put up giant billboards with her face on it and ‘Judy Docca for Schoolboard!’.
Clearly being on the board is her personal hobby - it’s all about Judy getting her jollies and having something to do before she dies. Never mind the kids - their needs aren’t a factor here.
If she is voted in again it will show just how pathetic and uninformed MoCo voters are.
wow.. you are really mean. I didn't vote for Docca but, there's no need for this kind of ugliness. If you think you can do better, by all means, run for BOE. Let's see how well you can do.
She has no business running!! If she was a decent person she wouldn’t be running much less paying to put giant posters of herself up everywhere.
She does not deserve respect because of her own actions and arrogance.
That doesn't mean you have to be mean. You don't need to respect someone to not be mean. It's called being civil. I hope you teach your children better.
And again, if she has no business running, then please run for BOE next time since you seem to know who has business running for BOE and who doesn't.
Once you put yourself in a political position you have to accept all that goes with it.
I would have been happy if someone had paid to run anti Judy Docca ads, but alas no one did. If I had extra money I seriously would have paid for someone to tell it - meanly. My mother taught me to fight for something that’s right and not to accept something like this, thank you very much.
Here’s a political ad for you - is this nicer do you think?

Anonymous wrote:Pat O'Neill is atrocious and HAS to go. Watch last year's BOE meetings and you'll see how she bullies the newbies (like Jeanette Dixon). It is awful. Thank goodness someone (Lynn Amano) is running against her.
I don't have strong feelings on Karla v. Julie, but Docca also really needs to go. She is seriously losing faculties. I handed her a simple spreadsheet last year and she couldn't figure out how to read it. I'm sorry, but she's just too old. Thank goodness Maria swooped in at the last minute to run against her!
PLEASE VOTE for Amano and Blaeuer!

ARe these the right people to do that?
District at Large: Reiley
District 1 Maria Blaeuer
District 3 Lynn Amano
District 5 - Brenda Wolfe
I don't know about Wolfe, but agree with the rest. That's how I voted.
Yep. Wolfe is unopposed, so who knows. I don't like Amano or O'Neill, so that was an unfortunate choice. I'm excited to see what Reiley and Blaeuer might being. Hope they win.
Yes, I'm excited for Reiley and Blaeuer as well. They understand how to get MCPS back on track.
I am excited for Reiley too.
