This exchange is a good example of our experience with Capitals.

People who are unhappy with Capitals speak of their experiences; people endorsing the club use bullying and belittling words against other posters. If you are one of the three posters, you might want to think about that difference and what it means about you.

Huh? I am not endorsing Capitals, just calling out the crazy when it’s obvious. Take your own advice, and think what that says about you. It’s time to get a little less invested in your child’s athletics.

Couldn’t agree more.

I should have said couldn’t agree more and I’m a former Stars parent.

The comments aren't about SSSA. While several girls from SSSA did make the teams, others (better players) did not. It is a bigger picture. This year they cut some top talent, placed several first class players on the B team, and have players who are noticeably far less skilled. It makes no sense so people are talking. Capital has been accused of unpleasant politics for years, but this year was pretty outrageous.

PP asking question, for a more balanced approach to your question about the alleged politics, i.e. more than one perspective on the outcome of the tryouts, this has already been discussed ad nauseum on another thread:

Start around p. 9. That thread is a little difficult to follow at times because unfortunately some posters who were upset got so nasty about 14 year old girls that the moderator had to delete several posts.

The PPs who did a good job explaining it. We are a third family who has been watching, our daughter has graduated out but we're still very connected. Selections and team placements the past two years have been very political, with this year being worse.

The immediate PP is correct that the thread got very nasty. I know I reported a couple of posts and others did as well. It was so bad we took our magnets off of the cars because we don't want to be associated with the program in any way, even socially with the parents, because of the online bullying that took place. I don't know if the posts were made by adults or girls but it was a very bad look for a program that used to be a shining star in girls lax.

and no longer is...
