+1. I use the sink all the time. If your space is that limited, the counter won't really be useful for folding clothes. I've found that, unless I have about 5 feet of counter space, it's much easier to fold clothes on the bed or the couch.

If you believe you would use it put in a small one.

keep in mind that adding the utility sink will increase you water load at the house and you are getting permits it may require you do do a water upgrade. That is how it is looking at my renovation, so I am forgetting the laundry sink. The water upgrade is apparently about 4K for the labor.

We don't use it often, but nice to have when you need it.

A sink is MUCH HARDER to add after the fact.

You can buy temp. / rolling items from the container store and the like if you need more surface area.

Sink.

I grew up in a house with a huge, double utility sink. I really miss not having one (at all) in my own home. I would for sure choose that over counterspace. I fold upstairs watching TV.

Sink sink sink. I have counters, but they always get mucky and need to be wiped off. I never fold on them.

I use the sink all of the time but do not fold clothes in the laundry room. So sink for me.

I use my sink all the time. I'd hate to be without it.

This. Best of both worlds.

Countertop! We have a big utility sink the we never use (several nearby bathroom sinks to choose from if we needed one), and very little counter space. The washer and dryer are on pedestals so too high to fold clothes on.

I have considered getting a wooden or composite insert to put over the sink to add counter space.

This would be amazing! I love having a utility sink. With babies and toddlers I am frequently washing bodily fluids off clothes. I would NOT want to be doing that in a sink I was my hands or dishes in.

I would miss not having a utility sink and all out folding is done while watching tv or in the bedroom but ymmv.
