A good friend is a retired math teacher who tutors. Her students are about evenly split between kids who need actors help and kids who want more challenge or are being homeschooled. She has a couple students who are gifted and being homeschooled and she does only their math tutoring. The students have other tutors for other subjects. It’s pricey, but a very high quality learning experience

We are in DC using an online program and hired a local college student to come in 3x/week for 4 hours/daily at a rate of $15/hour plus transportation. It has been the same student for the past 3 years and has worked out well. Also look at www.cheverlystem.com for a drop-off homeschool program. Our family loves it.

Again- some states have requirements that a parent must be the teacher to a certain extent. Check carefully.

And there’s nothing that prevents a nanny from tutoring, especially if the parent chooses the curriculum, grades assignments, etc.
