Been married 6 years and we also don't fart in front of each other unless it's an accident. We also close the door when using the bathroom, whether #1 or #2. A master bathroom with a separate water closet was non negotiable for us.

I agree OP. I have a loving, totally non uptight marriage and DH and I don't pass gas in front of each other (or OMG poop. People really are vulgar). In 17 years it's slipped out a few time by accident, we both just laugh and get on with life. But to just let one rip while we're sitting watching TV or out for walk or whatever? Just tacky.

DH has done it occasionally and laughs and pretends he did not do it. I think it happened to me once or twice (together 8 years). I would NEVER poop in front of him and if I have to pee and for some reason he is in the same bathroom as me, I ask him to turnaround. Exceptionsto all of this are my two (about to be three) C sections. Then he actually helped me to the bathroom the first day, pee, blood, but still no pooop

Ah, just wait until you're pregnant OP. Or maybe you'll be one of the women who insists your DH can't see what's going on or join you in the delivery room because you're too self conscious.
It's a pretty sad way to live life.

Same here. DH is grossed out when I fart but will rip one in front of me.
That being said, I can hear his from across the house, so leaving the room to fart wouldn't really help anyway.
