Thank you for sharing. Very illuminating.

How/why did you stop hiding bottles? Is there anything a spouse can do or does it come from within? Thanks again.
Not sure why you think the hiding of the bottles is the problem.

I haven't posted on this thread, but yes. I'm overwhelmed right now and DH hasn't noticed. I'm not trying to blame anyone for my drinking but there's a lot he could do to take things off my plate. Some days I feel like I'm drowning because no one has talked to me all day long. DH hasn't had a conversation with me in months. Small compliments would go a long way.

I would be upset if he just got upset about my drinking and yelled at me.

I'd put them in my trunk and toss them out somewhere else.

Does she only drink when you aren't around? Is there a reason she drinks during the day / feels she can't drink in front of you?
That is a question for her not me.

No, she also drinks in front of me as well, though she tries to keep it to normal levels in front of me.
I would go to an al-anon meeting, op.
Thanks. I am actually going to my first one tomorrow. Not sure what to expect but can’t hurt.
Good for you, OP. I hope it is helpful for you. If the first meeting you attend doesn’t work for you, try another (different day/time/group). Every meeting has it’s own feel, and some were more comfortable to me than others.

I used to put them in the trash with other stuff. Hid them in target bags in my closet and then threw them into a public trash bin. Underneath clothes in the hamper.

What makes you think she’s doing this?
Bottles in bar suddenly completely full and no empty bottle in recycling bin. Stock of wine depleted with no bottles in bin. Other reasons.
oh man, I thought this was my DH at first before I went back and reread OP saying DW is SAH. whew!
