All of these woman are in the 45-50 year old age group now. Many of the women soccer stars came out of this area and played travel/HS which is why I’m shocked when OP says she grew up here and didn’t think there was travel soccer for women. WAGs was big. I played travel Year-round (indoor in winter) as much, if not more, than my own kids do now.

And BRYC had Mia Hamm, Jill Ellis, etc. I thought it was well-known this area was a hot bed for girls soccer in the 80s.


And Mia Hamm played HS as well...I remember watching her play at Lake Braddock all the time.
