There's a website here for non-Jews who want to have their sons circumcised by a mohel:

uh, hello?! female circumcision is ILLEGAL in the united states no matter what religion or ethnicity you are! women are granted asylum in this country to avoid this barbaric practice.

sorry, i don't care if i am being culturally insensitive - it is an awful practice. i hope the mohel you approach reports you to the police.

it's funny how they call female "circumcision" when the real name is female castration.
for boys, it's circumcision because they only remove the foreskin - in different levels depending on culture, religion...
for girls it's castration because depending on the religion and or culture they can only remove her clitoris or go all the way and sew the labia together leaving only a small opening for sexual penetration and urination.
the person who is asking the question is IGNORANT and STUPID. besides not knowing the correct terms, this person doesn't know that people with such religious beliefs would not eat to be able to go back home to have the procedure done where they're comfortable.

That person asking about a circ for her daughter is definitely a troll. She is probably anti-circumcision altogether and wants to fan the flames by making us FREAK OUT over circs for a girl, but acting like it's fine for a boy. I would just ignore it.

Please do NOT ignore the poster who is looking to circumcise her daughter! It is a very real practice that is traditional in many countries around the world. Unfortunately, it is very painful and a lifelong issue, particularly the more intensive female circumcisions. PP, I understand that this is a tradition in your family/culture, but please do a LOT of research before you decide to do such a thing to your little girl. Also, you won't find a doctor or above-ground professional to do such a procedure in this country - you'd probably have to ask people from your home country who now live in the area.
