This. I literally don't care. To the extent I might care or used to care, that was squeezed out of me by marathon commutes in terrible weather. I would rather sleep later, arrive/depart work earlier, see my kid more, and go to the dry cleaner and salon less frequently, than spend a minute more than I have to on my appearance.
I could spin it as a late 30s woman managing older men, walking a careful line between looking professional yet non-threatening ... but the honest truth is IDGAF.

This brings me back to the days when I read Capitol Hill Style religiously and the riskiest thing discussed was how big your rectangular-looking bag would be and/or pearl size.
You don’t remember the lace bodysuit with no explanation of how to style, or for what occasion it would be appropriate?

I don't think they consider it the epitome of being stylish. I think they consider it fine for work.

This is it. Honestly it's just not a priority / not something I spend much time at all thinking about or noticing. When I leave the house I want to make sure I look nice, but there's also a practical component. I'm generally not just heading out on the town to see and be seen.
And as others have mentioned, a lot of people here are in roles and professions where it's important that they're taken seriously. This goes hand in hand with conservative, classic-style pieces...not flashy or bold looks
