Yes the same with volume of conversations. I can understand something was said in a whisper without it actually having to be so low it can't be heard. Always use subtitles now.
I do, too. DH calls me an old lady, but he’s the one always asking “What did he just say?” I don’t have that problem!
I've hated the dark shows and movies for years. As for subtitles, we got into the habit of using them because it's always so hard to hear the dialogue. Last night during a movie I asked my husband, "Do you find that you are reading the subtitles instead of listening?" He said yes, so we decided to try turning them off. I feel like I'm getting dependent on them, but it's so annoying that the dialogue is nearly inaudible on so many shows and movies!
