It’s something with Hulu. I find that if I pause it, go out to the main menu, and go back in, it’s better. Still too dark but watchable. With out doing that I literally can’t see what’s happening.

Omg yes!! I thought it was my tv at first so switched to phone and same problem.

It is really a lame series for absurdly paranoid people.

the show is so dark that I can't even make out what's going on so bye bye Handmaidens Tale. I refuse to go blind and start squinting at my tv.

I do, too. DH calls me an old lady, but he’s the one always asking “What did he just say?” I don’t have that problem!

I've hated the dark shows and movies for years. As for subtitles, we got into the habit of using them because it's always so hard to hear the dialogue. Last night during a movie I asked my husband, "Do you find that you are reading the subtitles instead of listening?" He said yes, so we decided to try turning them off. I feel like I'm getting dependent on them, but it's so annoying that the dialogue is nearly inaudible on so many shows and movies!

)And PS +1 to the grumble about properly recording actors speaking. Makes me crazy because I see it as part of the job of making filmed entertainment, not an artistic choice you can play around with. Endlessly frustrating.)

One of the reasons I mostly watch Korean dramas now is that they are a visual feast, including lots of light and color.
