We were over 40 when we tried SG donor egg shared program. Got pregnant the first go around.

Now DC is almost 11yo. As they say in the Mastercard ads, "It's priceless".

Has anyone over the age of 40 been told that PGS is not a requirement for them? We've been told that by SGF, but this post seems to contradict that possibility.

My understanding is that SGF dos not offer shared risk for patients older that 40. For not shared risk patients, it's your choice whether to do PGS testing. For what it's worth, our RE was not too enthusiastic about PGS testing. We had to strongly insist on it. At the end, it was the right decision for us.

Sorry, I neglected to mention in my original question that we are over 40 and looking at Donor Egg (DE) Shared Risk program.

I’m 45 and I’m the shady grove donor egg shared risk. Honestly, I think it’s pretty easy to get in unless you have a known issue. All my test and dh came back fine before approval even though with oe ivf notamy blasts. It costs way more than what is posted above though.

Thank you for posting the contract language, OP (I know I'm a bit late to the party and it may have changed since your post, but it's still appreciated!)

looks like not great for DOR people as there's a clause that says the doctor can end the contract if you have poor response to stims

I am the only person I know of who got into shared risk and did have a successful cycle at SG so this is rare. doing shared risk made the process so much less stressful!!! Even if I had gotten pregnant the first time I would not have regretted it.

do you mean "didnt"?

OP here, this was full language of the contract!

"They put all numbers in the computer and approve you if your success rate is above certain %."

It isn't worth asking this question in the abstract. SG will use its own model with your numbers from 3-day and other testing. At the same appointment where you get your personalized predictions / expectations, the RE will be able to tell you in all but the most borderline cases whether you qualify for Shared Risk. Based on literature and financing presentations, I would expect SG qualifies anyone they expect they can get successfully pregnant in under 3-4 fresh cycles initiated.

Is it 32% of cycles initiated (intent to retrieve) or 32% of cycles where there's a retrieval. If the latter, should be fine for Shared Risk.

PGS is not a requirement for donor egg since the donor ages are typically under 30. We just did shared risk frozen egg DE and our RE did not recommend it. If you do 1:1 fresh egg and get a ton of blasts it may be worth it.

SGF now does the shared risk program for patients as olde as 41. I'm 43, so I did the Multi-cycle discount. With the military discount (my partner, not spouse, is in the military and they honored the 25% discount) it came to around $19,000 for 2 cycles (if needed, 1 if not needed). This did not include PGS.

I'm at SGF and I don't recall being "required" to do PGS, but I also never thought I wouldn't do it due to my age.

Thank you, this is incredibly helpful!

Does anyone happen to know whether the rider for a "gestational carrier" applies to a same-sex couple doing co-IVF / reciprocal IVF?

You pay extra if you use one? Or something else?

Not OP but yes you pay extra if you use one. It's not unheard of for clinics to add a coordination fee for surrogacy. I started at SG and felt it was a bit bullshit and unfair at the time. I switched to CCRM and they don't have that fee.
