I have a 2nd and 5th grader and we have NEVER done sleepovers. Just not something we do. Kids are fine with it so far.

7.5 year old boy. They have come up. My son just says, "My mom doesn't like sleepovers." Totally not a big deal for him at this age. That could change and I'll have to reassess.

Sleepovers are so much fun and such a part of growing up - of course I allow them. I always make sure I know the family well and feel comfortable that DDs will be supervised.

I feel sorry for the kids that don’t get to experience sleepovers with friends because of their nutty parents.

I feel sorry for the kids as well. Some parents are either snobs or lazy. Thank goodness my parents allowed sleepovers as some of them are my best childhood memories. I also am very pro sleepover. You can’t keep your kid in a bubble.

I don't mind hosting sleepovers, but we don't do very many because we like sleeping in a little bit on weekends.

We've hosted our kids' friends who -- we discover -- are VERY early risers even on weekends. They wake up at 5:30 a.m., wake our kid up too, and then they're up and talking at the top of their lungs, making noise. That means the rest of us are up, too. It's awful. Then our kids (tweens and teens) are cranky for the rest of the day, because they're just so tired.

No, thanks. We like to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday mornings. That sleep time is precious for all of us during the school year, and I don't want to find out that somebody else's kid is a crack-of-dawn kind of person. I don't have it in me anymore to find out.

People are sue happy these days...one dog bite, falling down the stairs etc...

You haven’t mentioned the ages of your kids. Mine would die if I suggested I stay when they are hanging out at a friends house. The parents would also think I’m crazy.

I hate sleepovers because my kids are sleep deprived Monsters the next day. I am too if they are at my house since I’m a light sleeper and no one sleeps. Still, they occasionally each have them with one or two good friends. Payback since I loved them as a child and we never slept.

No, I’m not concerned about injuries or lice. They could get either at any time.
