I'm a chef so I eat my way through the country doing "research" but really just stuffing my face and meeting other chefs. I only buy 1 or 2 bags at a time because I don't want to be stopped at customs. I only buy pre-loved Channel and Hermes because they are so many good fakes out there it's easy to get fooled, and they retain the best value. I always thought I would eventually sell the bags to fund my retirement, but now I have daughters, I think I'll just pass them along.

I also like Japanese brands like Maison Kitsune, Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto and they are so much cheaper if you buy them in Japan. I don't speak Japanese but fashion is a universal language.

As people have said, Chanel and Hermes have been replicated to the point that stores can’t tell the difference. Buy a super fake. A bag from the highest tier Chanel factory is around $600. A hand stitched imported leather hatched hardware Hermes bag is about $1.5k. It’s worth it for the materials and stitching alone.

Look at Duckpin Consignment in Baltimore County. Not sure if they get Chanel though. Also, follow order luxe on instagram. She has new items but might be able to source you a pre-loved.

Haven't scrolled through whole thread, but if not posted here: scams running on Poshmark where someone sells a bag, then buyer claims the seller sold them some cheap bag and demands a refund. I know a woman who buys Coach (verifies them), cleans them up, and resells them. She puts those proceeds into her charitable works. She was hit in this scam a few months ago and learned about how this is happening to many sellers on Poshmark.
