MCPS is waiting for crimes such as molestation or rape to occur. When the cops make the arrest, then they will fire the employee. No one including Dr. Smith is enforcing the Employee Code of Conduct.

Take that text to show police, and be sure to get a copy of your report. That's essential.
What is in that text isn’t illegal. The cops will tell PP that. They will send her away empty handed. However, it does violate the Code of Conduct. The cops can’t do anything, but MCPS can.
The same is true for giving a child gifts or being alone in a classroom. Not illegal, but a firing offense. This is likely true of most non-physical grooming behaviors.

The Compliance office and the Superintendent have copies of the invitation. They decided progressive discipline with a warning of no more texts to students is sufficient for a man demonstrating grooming behaviors of a child predator.

Now THAT is disgusting! Irresponsible parents taking up others people's time. I cannot stand the "I'm so important" attitude of parents we have met since moving here a few years ago.

This stuff is always clearer in hindsight. One of my former middle school teachers (yes, he was MCPS) was arrested a little over a decade ago and served prison time for molestation. Based on what he pleaded guilty to, he was abusing boys when I had him. Everyone was going on and on about how they always knew he was a creep, how could nobody have done anything, etc. etc. No, we didn't know any such thing. He was a friendly guy and a very popular teacher and we were all gobsmacked when we heard the news. In hindsight, some friendly behaviors took on a much more sinister tinge, but nobody knew what he truly was before that point. What, we should have reported him for being male and nice?

Years ago, my son Had a bus driver who said he would like to invite my child to his house to sit on the sofa and watch Star Wars and eat popcorn. I laughed it off but it totally creeped me out at the time. Naively I didn’t report it. Didn’t even occur to me at the time. But boy given the last few years what’s happened in MCPS I sure would now.
If you remember enough details, please report it now. He may still be driving children, and it least if there are any other instance of impropriety it might trigger some scrutiny.
