In the US the bloom is washed off so it is less safe to keep them out for weeks like in Europe.

But 12 hours is fine, 6 years not as much.

You will be fine. In Europe they are not refridgerated at all. It's a US thing to refridgerate everything.

When i was young we would leave our found Easter eggs in our baskets for days. And eat them days later. Never had a problem.

They have been on the counter for six years. Probably should throw them out at this point.

This. One of the advantages of hard boiled eggs is they keep better than other foods since you cook them inside the shell. As long as they are unpeeled, you are definitely good after just 12 hours.
