This is your brother in law, your child's uncle. Pretty close relatives. In this situation, I'd think he would at least make some introductions. It's really strange that instead of chatting with you and his niece, he sat with the other kid. Definitely ask him about it.

Given your sister's personality, I would ask him directly, but not in an accusatory or threatening tone. But that is my personality.

I would not decide on the next step until I saw how he responded. I might suggest he have an opporutnity to mention it to her before I did.

Either way, I wouldn't conceal something that made my radar signals go off. But I wouldn't jump to assumptions either.

This is OP. There are two entrances - one in the back and one in the front but the way he came in, it was like he knew she was there and there are no windows on the back wall so he could not have seen her through the window. Almost like they had spoken to one another earlier. I am actually just realizing this, making this whole thing even more suspcious.

It’s extremely suspicious.

Marriage can be difficult and maybe your sister is difficult, but cheating and lying in a relationship is wrong.

He should not be leaving his kids at home while your sister is out of town to go play games with other women and their children.

If your sister is difficult fine, but his kids aren’t. Why use her absence to ignore them?

I’d probably ask your sis in a way that suggests she already knows. Like, hey what’s the deal with the girl at the ice cream shop? Bill seems to know her whole family.
