My son is a rising 6th grader and he has a lovie (tiny little shredded shirt.) He takes it on vacations, etc but would never take it to anywhere his teammates/friends might see it thankfully. Kids are cruel and I try to explain to my kid what the consequences COULD BE if he acts like a dork or anything like that.

My almost 11 year old boy loves his stuffed animals, most of which are cats or kittens.

My 11 year old DD sleeps with her “blankie” and stuffed animals every night.

My 13yr old still travels with his bennie. Hes had it since he was a baby. We purchased 2 just un case he loses one. I have no concerns. I actually think it's pretty healthy.

38 here and we’ve got two. No shame! They’re cute. They prop my arm up into a comfortable sleeping position.

My 12 year old rising 7th is still strongly attached to her stuffed animals. She has one very special and a bunch of specials. Even my rising 9th grader still takes 3 w/ her on vacation. Just a sign of a caring kid w/ a great imagination.

My going into 6th grader regressed hard this vacation and was obsessed with stuffed animals. Had to carry one in the car during vacation. Pretty sure he gets that when his friends are around that he acts like they are stupid kid toys.

My 5th grade son hides his stuffed animals between his bed and the wall.

My 10 year old DS sleeps with a 5 foot tall stuffed bear. His bed is full of stuffed animals and he always has a small one in his backpack.

My 11 year old son just took two stuffed animals on his school's first overnight trip. He could leave them in his backpack if he thought he'd get teased. But nobody did. They bring him comfort. I think it's great to nurture the sweet-natured attachment to cute things like this. We so often force our boys to stop expressing these types of emotions. Most of them are going to be dads some day, and there's just nothing better than a hug from Dad. Right? I say this as a 50 year old woman whose parents "never" hugged us kids. Don't be like my grandparents.
