What is the resistance so many on this board have to developing relationships with your child’s teacher?

how? I know several families that choose different venous other than home because they find it intrusive.

They're okay for PK and Kinder but after that, pointless to me. Particularly if 1) the school year has already started when you get yours 2) you're a returning family.

The ones that we've had aren't longer than 10-15 mins. Teachers seem super tired because they're scheduled M-F 5:00PM on once school has started. The one I had last year, one of them yawned so much, I almost offered the guest bedroom.

Personally, moving forward I would rather decline. If I do, do them it's just to go through the tedious motion.

A DCPS teacher here. Home visits can be anywhere off of school property. I normally line mine up at the library. It’s cool to get that one on one time.

I'm opting out for my 1st and 3rd grader this year. I'm over them at this point.

Get is over with, the teachers are pressured to have a specific goal as part of their evaluation. In and out, the teachers will be happy for your brevity and completing it.

I'm guessing it's because of Heart's (fading) history as a "citywide" school...
