Assuming this is real, I would seriously consider Catholic school. I have friends with kids at St Thomas Moore and they're very happy there. We're at a different Catholic school outside the beltway, and I couldn't imagine such things being tolerated there.

I suspect/hope OP is a troll, but the experience of being Black/brown in a majority white school is not at all the same as being Asian, though I am not dismissing discrimination Asian students might face in the same circumstances. OP specifically called out the one alleged SE Asian student in her child's class, presumably because she, too, has dark skin. If OP's child is being targeted for her curly hair and dark skin, how many kids there are with ancestors from Japan, Korea, or China is not relevant. It's just not. Again, I hope OP is a troll, too.
I get what you're saying, but in this specific case OP said she was told there were five families in total at the school that are "of other races." In the context of the credibility of that specific claim, the number of children/families who identify as Asian is relevant.

Discovery: 96
Jamestown: 61
Nottingham: 79
Taylor: 87
Tuckahoe: 67
We are at one of those schools (one of the less-diverse ones even within that group), and I personally know more well more than six families who do not present as white. The least diverse, Jamestown, is 81% white, so nearly a fifth of the school identifies as something other than just white.

my point OP, is that some of the nastiness is parenting or at the very least, the school is not giving other parents the opportunity to address it with their children by not informing them.

OP- this is serious bullying. The school needs to talk with the classroom and send a note home to the parents. If my son ever talked with someone like this I would be pissed and want to know- and it would stop.
Also, FWIW, I talk with my son about how it's fine to be curious, but he needs to be very cautious how his curiosity comes across- that he is not to make other people uncomfortable even if it's unintentional. If he has any questions about someone's appearance, he is to ask me. I guarantee if he was in your DD's class, none of this would be coming from him.

St. Thomas More Cathedral School and St. Ann’s. I’ve had non-Catholic friends at St Ann’s who were very happy and it is a very welcoming church. I agree about St. Agnes.

Can you take the issue to a higher ranking school official? With an IEP you have options but not sure how that works if the issue is social vs academic.
So sorry this is happening. Please reinforce her beauty and self worth as much as possible and have her spend time with her non white parent. I'm AA and have a dear friend who really wants us to move to her area because of the schools. It's 95% white. I explained to her why I could never do that because it's hard being one of the few children of color. She went on and on how that doesn't happen with the younger generation. This proves that is still happens. Yes, her schools are rated 10 on great schools but ours are 8 and diverse so for us it's a better school system.
