"when she walks she juts her bottom out. It looks very cute to me"

APS doesn't have Deputy Superintendents, and there are no schools in 22207 that have only six non-white families. Try again.
Jamestown has 8 kids who self-identify as Black, Nottingham 4, and Tuckahoe 7. They all have more students who self-identify as "multiple," but maybe none of those kids are black-presenting. Same with the Hispanic kids in those zones, they may not present as a racial minority.
But yeah, we have Assistant Superintendents, so I hope this is just a troll post. If it's not, I can guess the school and the one OP is trying to get her kid into. ASFS isn't taking transfers, but there are other "good" schools in APS that are more likely to take a transfer for this upcoming year.
You're forgetting the Asian column, where Tuckahoe has 30 students, Nottingham has 40 and Jamestown has 22.
I didn't "forget" the Asian column. I suspect/hope OP is a troll, but the experience of being Black/brown in a majority white school is not at all the same as being Asian, though I am not dismissing discrimination Asian students might face in the same circumstances. OP specifically called out the one alleged SE Asian student in her child's class, presumably because she, too, has dark skin. If OP's child is being targeted for her curly hair and dark skin, how many kids there are with ancestors from Japan, Korea, or China is not relevant. It's just not. Again, I hope OP is a troll, too.

Anonymous wrote:OP- this is serious bullying. The school needs to talk with the classroom and send a note home to the parents. If my son ever talked with someone like this I would be pissed and want to know- and it would stop.
Also, FWIW, I talk with my son about how it's fine to be curious, but he needs to be very cautious how his curiosity comes across- that he is not to make other people uncomfortable even if it's unintentional. If he has any questions about someone's appearance, he is to ask me. I guarantee if he was in your DD's class, none of this would be coming from him.
it would be better if your DD was in a more diverse school and I agree with other pp, I would engage a lawyer to make sure that happens. She is being abused by other students and emotionally harmed.

Catholic is probably the most affordable at this point and there are a couple good options for 22207. Or maybe Rivendale/Rivendell - can’t remember spelling.
BTW, I’m a white parent in 22207 but zoned for different schools because I would not want to send my kids to the ones you’re zoned for.
What are the good Catholic options? I think St Agnes and St Ann are probably just as white and very conservative too.

Anonymous wrote:I’m really sorry OP. We live in this school zone too and are considering private because of the lack of diversity (even though we’re white) and general snootiness. These kids are not being raised right and I’m sorry your DD is suffering because of it. I think you should move her to private school if at all possible.
