This is not a favor. A favor is, could you give me a lift to the airport? Or could you help me assemble my new bookshelf? This is passive aggressive judgement.

Uggg, my MIL would do this shit too. It's awful. She passive aggressively cleans up after him and does his laundry when she's at our house.

I point blank told her he was a grown ass man and cleaning up after him is not my job.

I would have burst out laughing and said, “We don’t own an iron.” (Which is true)

My mom often comments on the fact that I don't do my husband's laundry.

Meanwhile, I once asked my dad a question about their washing machine, and he said "I don't know, I've never used that thing."

I think maybe my mom thinks she failed me by not instilling gender roles in me. And, btw, she worked full time (she was a nurse who worked variety of shifts, so if she worked at night, she'd spend the day cleaningand preparing a casserole for us to pop in the oven.)
