Actually he does sleep in our bed most nights. He will sometimes agree to fall asleep in his room, but then he comes in around midnight. He spends a lot of time "blasting ghosts" in his room but not so much time sleeping.

My Scottish grandmother was long dead before my niece was born and never saw a video of her. One day we were at a restaurant where the waitress had a Scottish accent and my niece said, “That girl talk like Kitty!” Kitty is what only my grandfather called my Grandmother and he was dead before she was. If my niece ever heard us talking about her Grandmother, we would have called her Grammy. Anyway, my niece told us that Kitty still kisses her at night and tells stories.

When my oldest was that age she would tell us about the giant gorilla who lived in her closet and would read books to her after we put her to bed. Active imagination + lots of goodnight gorilla.

We don’t have a TV.

We watch shows, of course, but on our laptops in our room. I doubt she could hear it.

DH and I are both atheists, especially DH. It wouldn’t fly for him although I don’t have an issue as long as the kids never knew about it. I think it would scare my son.

We had a phase where our son would see spirits/energy at 2. He would communicate that "the man" was standing over there and be timid/shy. It seems to be rare these days but I believe kids are more in tune to the spirit world. It always creeped me the hell out and gave me goosebumps whenever it happened but my wife is more spiritual and said that maybe it's our ancestors coming to see us.

It may sound like foo foo nonsense to other people, but I think there's definitely something to it. If you've ever been to a legit medium I know there's a whole lot I don't understand. Now, the rusty man definitely sounds super creepy. When our son would get uncomfortable we'd just tell him to nicely tell the man to go away if he wasn't comfortable.

I don’t believe in spirits, ghosts, demons etc but it’s still creepy to hear your 3-year-old tell you some ominous being sneaks into her room at night. DH finds it all silly, and strongly feels she keeps retelling us the story because she senses it scares us. He’s creeped out too, he hates horror movies.

This reminds me of a doctor Who episode. Unrelated, I wonder if your tv is loud enough for some sound to carry?
