Kia Soul. Mid line model includes back up camera and Apple CarPlay. Higher seating position is nice.

My friends 17yo son died last week driving his Jeep into a tree, speed was a factor. Teens with cool cars and friends show off. Get something not cool like a Honda Accord.

Go to any mall parking lot in America and watch kids in Honda Civics and Accords doing one-tire burnouts and driving like complete idiots after the late movie lets out.

More kids wreck Honda Civics than any other car.

More kids probably have Honda civics than any other car as well. So that makes sense. I suspect most Honda civic teen drivers are not doing “one tire burnouts”.

A used Audi is never a good choice, unless the goal is to spend money on repairs.

Overkill for a teen. HRV or a Mazda cx3 maybe.

Or Civic/Accord, Corolla/Camry.

I'd get an older Volvo for a teenager. Not flashy or fast and very safe.

Or Nissan

Ford focus
Honda civic but a Corolla cost less.

Is it better to go a certified pre-owned vehicle or Carmax?

I’m a huge widespread panic fan - WSMFP!

I remember when widespread panic came to do a concert at my college...the posters everywhere didn’t say concert. Just “widespread panic, 8pm, Blakey Hall) and I was so confused!

We’re in the same market. We’ve decided the safest car is one that has perfect marks on both NHTSA and IIHS tests. We have decided on a 2016 Civic with the sensing package (extra safety features). We are spending thousands more than we initially planned though.

A used Subaru can also be a good option. There are some that did really well on crash tests and have eyesight technology.

The Mazda3 also has some nice safety features and is less expensive. It did well in crash tests but not quite as well as the civic.

A simple, safe + reliable car would be a Honda Accord or Civic or a Toyota Corolla.

Convertible 3-series, or if cost is a factor, a VW Cabrio.
