If by “high maintenance” , you mean a beautiful woman on your arm. Of course. What guy doesn’t want a hottie.

For very low SES men and very high SES men. For everyone else male in the middle probably not.

There is also a youth and cultural component. DH’s first wife was Black Barbie/RHWOA when they met. He was happy with her look and happy to spoil her financially.

It depends on what you mean by "high maintenance". If you are talking about a woman who spends money on her appearance - hair, nails, fitness, clothing, plastic surgery, etc - but is otherwise charming, thoughtful and nice, then, yes, people probably notice the eye candy on your arm.

If you are talking about those relationships where the man constantly fawns over his woman, making sure that she has the best seat, a refill on her drink, follows her around and holds her purse as she shops at the farmer's market, constantly raves about how beautiful she is, how wonderful she looks.....no, not prestigious. The guy looks pretty pathetic and the woman looks like a narcissistic nightmare.

Yes for a few men. For most me, myself included, the words high maintenance are a massive turnoff. But I know a couple of men who love the show off material life and hopefully they find each other.
