Agreed. Otherwise you have to drive all the way up to Delware and then come down the peninsula, which will make the drive much longer.
Should note it’s not the actual bridge staff that does it, it’s a for-pay service through a private company, I think it costs $30.
Wow, learn something new every day. Is this a service specifically for people who feel uncomfortable driving on the bridge? Never heard of that before, here or anywhere else.
My senior citizen mom has the bridge staff drive her car (she said it was the NJ state police, not sure though) across the Del Mem bridge a few years ago.
The state police will drive it over the Bay Bridge too. No need to pay someone to do it.

Anonymous wrote:i don't have issues with driving over bridges, but I REALLY dislike the bay bridge. It REALLY scares me in a way that has never happened on any other bridge. I drove once over it in the dark, though...and it was SO SO SO much better; it didi'nt phase me at all. (my issue is, i think, being able to see how long and twisty it is) If that is at all possible for you, I would highly recommend it.

I drive white knuckled in the middle lane when crossing the bridge and that's only if I have to.
Yup me too.
