So exhibition only right? I wish our pool would allow that.

They cannot swim the same stroke twice in a week (so that means that if they swam a stroke at the A meet on Saturday, they cannot swim the same stroke at the Wednesday B meet).
Everything is transparent and all results are on the OnDeck app.

My kids swim NVSL and it’s true that if you swim a stroke at an A meet you can’t swim that stroke at the following B meet.
This is not an NVSL rule; it is a policy of your pool. Ours says if you place (1-3) in an A meet you can't swim that event at the next B meet.
OP, ask if you want to know. I can't imagine a swim team would not place people according to their best times, and I'm guessing there is information to which you are not privy.
Oh I didn’t realize that was a rule for my pool and not NVSL - thx!

I'm guessing it's this. The other kids simply have a faster time on the ladder.
Your DS could swim faster than the other kids in any one given meet. But if the other kids have faster times documented on the ladder, they are the ones chosen to swim the A meet.
Make sure that your DS is not DQing. If he is being disqualified for some reason then his times aren't counting.

Anonymous wrote:B meets can deceive you. Different pools/leagues may have some variety in rules, but generally the kids who swim in a meets are not allowed to swim the same stroke in b meets. So the three swimmers with fastest times in each stroke are probably not swimming that stroke at the b meet. If your kid has one of the three fastest times in a stroke, between all previous b meets, a meets and the time trials, then you should approach the coach and ask why.

This. My son placed 1st in a B meet and didn’t make the A meet because there are 3 faster boys his age group in that stroke who just didn’t come to the B meet because they had swim in the A meet. Had they been there my son wouldn’t have placed 1st.
